Our Story: Where It Began
It all started with a simple idea — to give back to those who gave everything to our country. What began as a small community effort to help local veterans find meals and support has grown into a mission-driven organization committed to improving lives across our nation.
We saw veterans struggling to transition back into civilian life — facing challenges with housing, employment, and access to basic necessities. Moved by their strength and resilience, we decided to take act.
To expand our impact, Charles and Smith Health and Wellness Center partnered with Brenda Richardson, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, CEO, and Dr. Erisha Richardson, MD, Medical Director from Centered Care Wellness, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving community health. Together, we provide:

Annual check-ups and wellness visits

Ongoing care for long-term conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and asthma

Mental health support with licensed professionals

Vaccinations, lab tests, and prescription refills

Referrals to specialists when needed

Our mission is to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans by providing essential resources that empower them to live with dignity, stability, and purpose.
We are dedicated to supporting those who have served through food assistance, clothing programs, housing guidance, job training, and mental health support. By building partnerships within our communities, we ensure that no veteran faces hardship alone.
Through compassion, integrity, and commitment, we strive to bridge the gap between service and civilian life—helping veterans and their families find hope, belonging, and new opportunities.
